Therapy for connection, empowerment, and holistic healing

Mental Health, Marriage and Family Counseling

I just don’t feel like myself these days.

If so, you're in the right place.

My relationship feels so much harder than it used to. We can’t seem to get on the same page.

I’ve experienced loss or trauma, and I’m not sure how to move past it.

I feel more anxiety than I used to, and I am not sure why.

My spouse and I have entered a new phase as our children leave home. This experience is not what I expected.

I feel isolated, without as much in-person connection as I once had.

Does this sound like you?

Your Feelings Are Real, and They Matter

Relationships can be really stressful. It can be difficult to find a safe place to get in touch with our feelings and understand our needs. We may feel lonely, angry, overwhelmed, or misunderstood.

I understand, and I want to help.

I’ve built a practice focused on finding ways to improve our relationships. In therapy we will slow down to understand communication and our emotions, creating a different way of expressing what we’re feeling and what we need.

How you feel matters to me. I will meet you where you are and create a safe space to talk openly. My goal is to help you increase your capacity for joy and belonging, acceptance and connection.

Hello, I'm Lori Lubbers

We’ll create a safe space to focus and explore your past and present relationship, developing tools, techniques, and strategies to grow and find joy.

Marriage and Family Counseling

No two people are the same so therapy looks different for each person. We will customize the space according to what you desire and need.

Individual Counseling

Mental health support that meets you where you are.

Specializing in Anxiety, Depression, and Relationships

People seek therapy for a variety of reasons, and therapy looks different for everyone. In the first few sessions, we’ll focus on getting acquainted and discuss what you’d like to gain from our time together.

From there, we’ll work together on a plan to help you get from where you are now to where you want to be.

In the beginning, we’ll meet weekly for 50 minute sessions to build momentum for at least the first three months.

What happens when I start therapy?

Individual, Marriage and Family Counseling Sessions

Building a consistent, long-term and committed therapy relationship is central to my practice and the best path for engagement and healing. This is important for individual and for marriage and family counseling. I want my office to feel like a safe space, to get away from all the other distractions.

We’ll focus during our time together, really engage, and intentionally tune everything else out.

Technology is amazing and offers great convenience. For ongoing therapy relationships, HIPAA-compliant online sessions are available and a great option when you can’t make it into the office due to bad weather, recovering from an illness, traveling, etc.

There are several websites and apps offering quick access to therapy, on your phone and on the go. Unfortunately, there is a lot lost in the technical connection with someone. It’s easy to disengage quickly, on both sides of the conversation.

When I think about a completely virtual therapeutic relationship, I have to ask: What are we missing?
